Individualized, high-intensity Activity-Based Therapy for people with SCI who want real functional outcomes — not another 20-minute PT appointment.
Your first session is an evaluation — not a sales pitch. We learn about you before we build anything.
We sit down with you to understand your injury, your history, your daily challenges, and what you want your life to look like. No one-size-fits-all intake forms — a real conversation.
Through guided stretching and exercises, we get a clear picture of your current capabilities — range of motion, strength, sensation, and functional movement. This is our baseline.
You'll see the specialized ABT equipment you'll be working with — standing frames, FES systems, our Lokomat robotic gait trainer, exoskeleton, and more. We explain how each one fits your goals.
You tell us what matters most to you. We suggest additional goals based on what we've seen in 13 years of working with people in similar situations. Then we build your plan — individualized, specific, measurable.
Our facility is built specifically for SCI and neurological recovery. Every piece of equipment serves a purpose in your individualized plan.
Robotic-assisted walking therapy with body-weight support for gait retraining

Functional Electrical Stimulation — bike and independent units for muscle activation and patterned movement
Supported standing for bone density, circulation, spasticity management, and upright conditioning
Suspension-based exercise for motor control, balance, and functional movement training
Whole-body vibration for muscle activation, circulation, and spasticity reduction
These are real clients with real injuries. We share their stories (with permission) because outcomes matter more than promises.

This facility is such an asset to the disabled community. The owner has a spinal cord injury so he truly knows the challenges that many of us face. They have up-to-date equipment that can target many physical weaknesses, and the staff truly is wonderful and caring. I have made tremendous gains.
I had been through many physical therapists — Healthsouth, Baptist Hospital, and many others. There is a big difference in how I have felt after working out with iAM ABLE. They get a lot more out of me and I can feel it. The difference is like apples and oranges.
Not only have I noticed more strength in my body since going to iAM ABLE, but I also noticed more strength growing in my mind and my outlook for the future. Alfredo is very empowering, especially considering that he understands spinal cord injury.
My 13-year-old son has a spinal cord injury and has been coming here since 2015. You cannot compare the therapy you receive here to that of traditional physical therapy. They have specialized equipment that cannot be found in traditional therapy centers.
iAM ABLE was founded in 2012 by Alfredo, who has been living with a spinal cord injury for 18 years. He didn't build this organization from a textbook — he built it because he experienced the same frustrations you or your family member are feeling right now: the short PT sessions, the lack of a real plan, the feeling of being discharged and left to figure it out.
That experience is what makes iAM ABLE different. Every program, every piece of equipment, every approach was chosen because Alfredo understands — from the inside — what recovery actually demands. He and his team of 3 have been refining this for 13 years.
This isn't about sympathy. It's about authority. When your therapist has been through what you're going through, the trust is different. The accountability is different. The understanding is different.
"If it wasn't for iAM ABLE, I wouldn't be where I am today." — Julio

We don't bill insurance directly, but grants, fundraising, and sponsorship options exist. We'll help you think through funding during your discovery call.
